About this policy#
This Resource Usage Policy is a legal agreement between you, the customer (“Customer”), and Comcities.com, operated by Platinum Online (Private) Limited (“we”, “us”, “Supplier”). It forms part of our Terms of Service, and you must accept it to sign up for an account or use our services. Please read all of it.
It sets out the resource limits that come with our plans; the content we do not allow is listed in the Terms of Service. Our aim is excellent performance for every account, so the policy prevents practices that would slow the service down for others. Most accounts never reach these limits; those that do can affect everyone else on the server.
Please review the limits below. Storage, bandwidth, CPU, memory and the other resources all affect how fast your service runs and how far it can grow. If you regularly go over them, your account has outgrown its plan.
cPanel web hosting#
Our servers run CloudLinux, which sets each account’s limits through its LVE (Lightweight Virtual Environment) technology. Built into the server’s kernel, it guarantees every website fair access to the resources it is given.

cPanel reseller hosting#
Reseller servers also run CloudLinux, with these limits for each domain (cPanel account). Outgoing email filtering is included; incoming virus and spam filtering can be added for each domain.

* Going over the monthly MailChannels quota permanently routes your email through the server’s own IP address and restricts your MailChannels access.
Rules for all cPanel hosting#
If your website shows 503 errors or is unusually slow, check whether it has reached its resource limits. Your cPanel dashboard shows whether your account has hit them. If it has, your site needs more than its plan gives, and it is time to upgrade. If the problems continue, ask your web developer for help.
Email#
- Do not send attachments larger than 25 MB.
- Do not send an email to more than 20 recipients at once.
- Mailing lists, email marketing, newsletters and bulk mail are not allowed; use a third-party SMTP service or email marketing platform for these.
- POP connections are limited to 60 per hour.
- Deferred emails are limited to five (5) per hour. Once you reach the limit, further messages are not sent until it resets, one hour later.
- You can have up to 10 IMAP/POP3 connections open at the same time.
MySQL and other databases#
- Databases may only be used by the website hosted on the same server. Remote database access is not allowed.
- Databases in an account must be in active use by that account, not kept as archives.
- Databases may not be shared between accounts.
- No single database may be larger than 1 GB.
- Each user is limited to 25 simultaneous MySQL connections.
- Database queries should not exceed 3,000 per hour.
- Changes to data (insert, update and delete) should not exceed 1,000 queries per hour.
- Slow queries may not make up more than 1% of a database’s queries each day.
PHP#
Default PHP settings for ea-php 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4:

Cron jobs#
On shared hosting, a cron job may run at most once every 15 minutes. If one is set to run more often, our system resets it to 15 minutes without notice.
Processes#
Processes started by the web server, cron, the shell or any other method may not:
- create core dumps;
- run a script or program that forks in a way that creates a fork bomb;
- run in the background or listen on a network port.
Files and folders#
- An account may not hold more files and folders (inodes) than its limit above: 300,000 on web hosting, 250,000 per reseller account. Every file and folder, including web pages, scripts, images and emails, uses one inode.
- Your hosting account is not meant for backups, file storage or cold storage.
- A folder may not contain more than 4,000 items directly inside it. This counts its sub-folders, but not the files inside those sub-folders.
- No single file in your account may be larger than 1 GB. Hosting, reading or writing files larger than 1 GB is prohibited.
Failing to comply fully with these terms is grounds for suspending or terminating your account. We may remove any account without prior notice.
Radio hosting#
Unmetered bandwidth: fair use#
Every new radio account starts with unmetered bandwidth, with no caps or limits. An account that regularly uses more than 2 TB of bandwidth a month is not suited to a shared server. To keep bandwidth fair for everyone, and to stop one account’s heavy use from affecting others on the same server, we will permanently cap such accounts at 2 TB a month.
